Responsible for fulfillment and estimating of new equipment (construction) projects from beginning to end. This involves acting as the primary liaison with all sub-contractors and engineers; ensuring equipment is ordered and delivered on time, project data is accurately entered; and shop drawings are produced and distributed to the appropriate parties.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, Architects, Engineers, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
  • Prepares scope documents, schedules and follows up on shop drawing approval and assists sales engineer with drawings requiring revision and resubmission.
  • Coordinates project scope; budgets; performance; and close-out with customer, design firms and internal engineering/production team.
  • Oversees the preparation of Trane material and vendor orders; recording the receipt of materials and approving payments.
  • Responsible for entering equipment orders and issuing purchase orders for vendor orders and generates work orders for equipment start-ups.
  • Responsible for project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management.
  • Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
  • Establishes a professional relationship with the customer and interfaces constantly to maintain accurate status reports and project reviews.
  • Maintains competitive advantage and stays abreast of industry trends.
  • Closely interact with the Account Manager and Project Manager and assigned project staff to ensure timely completion of each project.
  • Responsible for identifying possible cost savings and/or cost problems that will occur on various projects.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 3+ years of project management experience in construction
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities – must be able to function effectively under pressure with a variety of concurrent tasks;
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, Outlook);
  • Strong Technical Aptitude
  • 2 year certificate/diploma from college or technical school and/or understanding of mechanical blue print drawings as they pertain to HVAC would be considered an asset.
