Summary:

Our client is recruiting for a Senior Payroll Administrator to be responsible for maintaining their day to day processing of payroll.



Main Job Related Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining electronic and paper based systems to set up and terminate employees
  • Each week process payroll, receiving and reviewing time sheets for compliance with company policies and employment standards, and calculating hours for pay and stat holiday entitlements; enter pay batches into payroll software
  • Update accounts system (Simply) with payroll transactions
  • Prepare payroll accruals at month end, based on journal entries; post in GL and reverse; reconcile payroll with GL
  • Prepare ROE forms for employees
  • Prepare weekly labour hours report
  • Track benefits eligibility and process new enrolments and terminations for both extended plan and pension plan
  • Communicate benefits plan information to employees and managers in a professional manner
  • Process WCB claims, short term and long term claims
  • Process contract labour payments
  • Process and allocate ADP service fees
  • Manage and maintain relationships with all store staff, managers, and executive team
  • - Provide accurate and detailed reporting to Managers on a timely basis
  • Research and advise management team on Employment Standards
  • Prepare and remit all government and benefit deductions
  • Special projects and duties as assigned


Required Education and Experience

  • 3 – 5 years experience in payroll and benefits
  • Hands on experience of processing payroll of at least 100 employees
  • Ability to operate various computer programs
