Senior Firmware Developer Job - Kelowna BC

General:

The successful candidate will utilize software engineering skills and technical training for core firmware development.

This position is based in Kelowna, BC, but may involve some travel to customer sites in Europe and throughout North America.

Responsibilities:

• Design, debug and implement software for embedded systems.
  
• Liaise with clients to understand business needs.
  
• Liaise with the Product Development Manager on the system architecture mapped out for specific clients.
  
• Liaise with Software and Hardware Engineers for design, testing and integration purposes.
  
• Coach and provide knowledge transfer for more junior firmware engineers in the team.
  
• Testing & Documentation.

Key Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of experience and education with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  
• Very strong C/Assembly language programming skills.
  
• Exceptional leadership skills and at least 2 year's experience as a team leader in a firmware development environment.
  
• Knowledge and experience of low power MCU controlled devices ideally the MSP430 platform..
  
• Computer proficiency in MS Office software.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Ability to follow and expand design procedures.
  
• Willingness to work and contribute as an effective team player.
  
• Low power RF transceiver experience is an asset.
  
• Excellent time management, problem solving, and analytical skills.
