The current exciting opportunity is for a full-time Area Manager to manage the Lower Mainland regional office, based at their location in Langley, including facilities, distribution and logistics, and to expand the services of one of the key service provision areas.

The successful candidate will be accountable for accomplishing area objectives by managing staff, planning operational efficiencies and evaluating area activities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains area staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.
  • Maintains a safe, secure and legal work environment.
  • Delivers business results by ensuring employees understand job expectations through setting goals and objectives.
  • Manages employee performance.
  • Enforces system, policies, procedures and productivity standards
  • Recommends strategic goals for area by gathering pertinent business, financial, service and operations information; identifies and evaluates trends and options; chooses a course of action; defines objectives; and evaluates outcomes
  • Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems; identifying trends; recommending system improvements.
  • Maintains safety standards by enforcing safety standards; analyzing and resolving safety problems; identifying trends; recommending system, procedural and equipment improvements.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
  • Other duties as required.

Mandatory Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in business related subject or equivalent work experience in management.
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, communication, problem solving and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a fast-paced, high stress work environment.
  • Previous responsibility for managing at least 8 direct reports.
  • Previous responsibility for developing and managing a budget.
  • Ability to travel.

The following would be an asset:

  • Previous work experience in a healthcare/homecare environment.
  • Previous experience of assessing situations and changing processes to improve performance and effectiveness.
  • Marketing skills – analysis, strategy development and implementation.
  • Analysis skills – forecasting, tracking expenditures, evaluating trends.
  • Knowledge of the Lower Mainland.
  • Previous experience of growing a market segment.
